WAYFINDING DESIGN
WAYFINDING DESIGN
Wayfinding Analysis and Strategy:
It is very important to develop a wayfinding strategy, and many factors are considered while creating the perfect approach for our clients' projects. We believe that the end user is the most important factor in devising our strategies, as they will be using the signage to navigate through the premises. Hence, understanding their needs and point of view is of utmost importance. We identify the problem areas in the route and then work on improving the shortcomings. At Signsol Design, we understand that just creating pathways isn’t enough, as aspects such as colors and symbols have different impacts on each viewer. We strive to understand each project thoroughly by viewing it from the end user’s perspective, and then proceed to strategize and curate themes that are most suitable for the project.
Concept Design and Schematic:
Concept design is an initial and important stage in the design process. Concept design aims to create a broad and clear picture of the project and involves brainstorming sessions to identify the problems to be solved. In this stage, a core idea is developed by our team, based on inputs taken from the marketing strategy of your project, and the process is then explained to the client via an initial design presentation. We try to incorporate elements of your project logo in the wayfinding design through graphics and motifs. Concept Design is followed by Schematic Design. During this step of the design process, we collate the information we’ve gathered from the client, and create several design options for the client’s consideration. We then proceed to showcase these options via a Presentation, to enable the client to visualize the different outcomes that can be achieved. After viewing the different outcomes, we provide the clients with the opportunity to make any modifications they want to make to their preferred design
Design Development and Location Mapping:
In this step, the design outcome that has been curated by the client and our team, is further reviewed and modified. All the concerned team members sit with the client and go through various outcomes that have been presented. The cost estimates are also updated once the design is finalized, and the client is kept well informed about all the important details regarding the project. We believe that pricing our services correctly is of utmost importance, as we strive to provide our clients with the most superior materials, at reasonable prices.
Signage Artwork with GFC Drawings:
GFC stands for Good For Construction and is one of the most important aspects of the design process. GFC is all about construction drawings and specifications related to the project. The drawing can be used as reference points throughout the various stages of the design process. The GFC drawing includes detailed elevation drawings, installation details, and foundation drawings. We also provide Autocad, Coral, and pdf files for the fabrication of signages.
Tender Documentations (BOQ):
A bill of quantity is a comprehensive document that gives details of the materials, parts and specifications concerned with a project. At Signsol, we ensure cost effective yet functional materials are considered in ordered to reduce the project cost. BOQ also details the terms and conditions of the construction or repair contract and itemizes every aspect to enable a contractor to price the work for which he or she is bidding. The quantities may be measured in number, area, volume or weight. The bill of quantities is issued to tenderers, to get their quotation for carrying out the construction work.
Mock Up Approval on Site:
Our team coordinates with the approved vendor for mock-up of a few signages. The GFC drawings for the same will be provided to the vendor. Each signage finishing will be checked for final approval. If the client wants us to make any changes in the mock up as per design, it will be informed to the vendor till the final mock up is achieved. Our team will visit the project site to check the installation process of the mock up and give final approval.
